INSPIRATION: "I was inspired by the film La Vie des Autres. I wanted the models to have a dirty look as if the hair and makeup had been slept in," said designer Marc Jacobs, who specifically requested Barbarella lipstick to be used on the models’ lips.

And since we're in a celebratory mood, we've decided not to dwell on the steady disappearance of the Black model over the past several seasons (too depressing). Instead, let's focus on the glorious, glamorous history of the Black model over the past fifty years.
